Interactivity without Interruption

Connecting brands to customers anywhere & anytime via sonic sound technology

Our core attributes…

  • Synchronised interactivity without interruption
  • Frictionless e-commerce solution across Total TV/Video and Audio
  • Content without search
  • Retain the audience in the broadcaster’s environment
  • Contextual targeting

Attention to any media is fleeting, this is the world we live in. So anything a marketer can do to nudge consumer attention, even a little, will help brands, particularly those who have a story to deliver.

There are synergy effects to be gained from brand content being seen on the second screen plus there are amplifier effects from relevance.

These combined can extend the time a consumer actively views advertising, which in turn, considerably improves message and brand comprehension.

Our Story

Synchronised second screen engagement and interactivity solution

Our story actually started in the charming 11th century French town of Montauban in 2013.
Natasquad, a progressive digital audio engineering company, based in Montauban, patented its ultrasonic authentication technology which allowed communication between electronic devices as a way to securely interact or transmit data using just audio. Natasquad has been in business using ultrasonic audio in this way for over a decade.
In late 2021 Trevor Clark, now our CTO, started to explore opportunities to create a new seamless second screen engagement platform for the media industry. Through extensive research, he discovered Natasquad based in Montauban and, in partnership, created the foundations of Sonic Media.  Trevor reached out to a couple of Australian media specialists for input...
“I’ve been researching linear connectivity for digital applications and have found an ingenious piece of tech that has strong application in the media industry.  You guys are the media experts, can you take a look.”

We did.  And immediately identified the extensive opportunities it presented for the media industry.
Sonic Media was formed in early 2022 and platform development progressed through the year to the point where we successfully conducted our first “proof of concept” test at the end of that year.
Further development through 2023, and a second successful POC, confirmed our view that a remarkable global opportunity existed to offer traditional media companies a seamless, synchronised, interactive and shoppable communications platform that requires no capital expenditure and uses existing infrastructure to deliver powerful campaign results.
Consequently, the global company – Active Sonic Technologies Pty. Ltd – was registered in September ‘23 and commenced trading as Sonic Media Pty Ltd.
By the end of the year, Sonic Media UK and Sonic Media Europe were formed with both companies, along with the foundation company in Australia/New Zealand, set to go to market in February/March 2024.
